now sunday she was shot 3x by my neighbor, dr anthony (older dr)tells me "no those are dog bites" sends us home w?bottle o antibiotics, didnt even check her. just horrilbe service from people whom r suppose to be there to care for animals. by the way i know she was shot w/a 22 b/c animal control and sheriff was called when it happened.
For example one dog had an ear infection, and he explained the medication that he was using, why it was selected over other competing ones and went into great detail. In this case he couldn't see the eardrum, so he used one medicine that was safe for a possible ruptured eardrum.
Dr. Matthews Sr. & Jr. are great and the girls up front are awesome! You get top notch animal care without all the extra fees. We will always use this veterinary office!
We took our dogs there for a checkup and for a few minor issues. Mr. Matthews was very thorough, helpful, explained everything he was doing and why. I was very impressed. It was clear to me and my wife that he cared for the animals and was interested in their health.
my molly was bit by a snake, got there@6:05pm, closed door as we were pulling in drive, charged after hr visit, told me he was not a bank and could not just hand out credit(for anti venom)
very inconsiderate. doctors are HORRIBLE!!!staff seems great
I thought my dog had Parvo. She vomited all night until she was empty, she wouldn't eat anything at all, and she's usually extremely hyper but all she wanted to do was sleep in her cage (she NEVER goes into her cage). I took her to Matthews first thing the next morning. He felt her around and told me she seemed fine and that she was too "playful" to be sick.. She was not playful. She was a little more alert because she got to meet a few animals; we have dogs in the neighborhood but she doesn't mess with them so it was a little exciting for her to be able to be around other animals for the first time. Then I asked if I had to pay the bill all at once (I KNOW they can bill people) because I didn't have much money with me. But I told him I could have the money up there that same day *and he DID get his money that same day*! So then he was saying that he could choose not to see my dog again. TRUST ME, he won't see her again! And if my puppy did have Parvo, it shouldn't have been a problem. He could help her. And he was warning me that hospitalization is $400. So basically if I didn't have that at the time, he wouldn't save my dog. Btw, Parvo can kill a dog in three days. It was a Friday so YES, I took her up there right then (knowing I could and would pay him). If she had Parvo and he refused her, she could've DIED and he didn't care. And he doesn't do emergency weekend visits. You're just SOL. ^all he cares about is his MONEY.
We'll be bringing them back, that's for sure! We have a follow up for tooth cleaning and removing a cyst on one dog's tail.
It took a long time for the doc to show up To check my dog. But completely worth it, they saved my dog from dying (parvo)
